Milano is as much a way of thinking as it is a way of eating. That's why we're doing our bit to raise money for the things we believe in.
Whether you're in Italy, Ireland, UK – or anywhere in between – we all appreciate how much historical architecture, peerless art and a warm sense of community contribute to the pursuit of life's simple pleasures.
A discretionary 30c will be donated on your behalf to the Veneziana Fund from every Veneziana pizza ordered. The Veneziana Fund (registered charity number 262146) give 50% to Venice in Peril (discussed below) and the remaining 50% towards the restoration, repair and maintenance of buildings constructed in the UK prior to 1750.
Projects completed by the Venice in Peril Fund include the restoration of the Madonna dell'Orto and San Nicolo dei Mendicoli churches, as well as the renovation of the church of Santa Maria della Visitazione’s coffered ceiling. It has also helped to pay for the rebuilding of the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, Torcello, and the re-anchoring and cleaning of the church of San Francesco della Vigna.
Milano also donate 30c from each La Reine pizza sold to the Tom Flanagan fund (registered charity number CHY4908), established in 2011 in memory of the late Milano Director. All money raised goes to Enable Ireland and their National Assistive Technology Training Services programme, which provides free technology services to children and adults with disabilities. To date we have raised over €10,000 through these donations and other events we have run in our restaurants such as regular fashion shows.
Enable Ireland supports over 3,300 children and adults with disabilities and their families and provide services in local communities throughout Ireland. Their services for children and their families cover all aspects of a child's physical, educational, and social development from early infancy through adolescence. For adults they offer a range of services covering personal development, independent living, employment, and social and leisure activities.
